Cabin crew apparel
Airline crew apparel is a uniform programme disguised as merch: shirts, knitwear, outerwear, scarves and ties issued against a size run that follows the crew base, not the customer base. A short-haul carrier may issue four items per crew member per year; a long-haul carrier with a premium cabin may issue eight to ten. Each item carries a high stitch count and an embroidered insignia or woven label, never a printed chest mark, because the wash and press cycles are industrial and a printed mark disintegrates within a few rotations. The supplier's role here is not design but logistics: holding a size-grid against a headcount, replenishing at rotation, and storing a buffer for new joiners against a known recruitment curve. Fabrics are typically poly-wool or poly-cotton for shirts and a performance blend for outerwear, with the brand applied by embroidery or by woven label and never by direct print on the garment body.
