Booth and house staff apparel
The people working the hall need to be identifiable without looking like a uniformed guard. Ushers, cloakroom staff, door staff, box office volunteers and the loading team all work a shift that is mostly standing and moving through a dark auditorium, which is the hardest garment environment there is. Mid-weight cotton or a cotton-rich blend, a left-chest mark at a size that reads from four metres, sleeve marks for the door team, and a back print only where the wearer will be seen from behind. Sizes are the real problem: a hall runs mixed roles across mixed ages, so the size curve is flatter than at an office. We plan the run at a wide spread rather than a fitted distribution, and we hold the extra S and XL pieces for the return window.
